July, 26 to 29

LTK4 Centre Court Festival, Köln, Germany

The Centre Court Festival is the annual inventory of sound based arts (Klangbasierte Künste) at LTK4 Cologne, ranging from installation to performance, creation to documentation, improvisation to fixed formats. Sound, in possibly all artistic forms, stands in the center of four days surrounded by a setting based mainly on gras&lawn as an example for acoustic & climatic change. It is a non-budget production with regional, national and international presentations and cooperations in self-governance. It is a mosaic of sounding possibilities of today: political, technical, poetic and always artistic.

LTK4, Köln, Germany

Les Instants Vidéo are continuing their artistic conversation with LTK4, this time in the frame of KLANGKOLCHOSE NRW, a project which intend to give more space to sound based arts, to show LTK4 cooperation links. For the first edition, we are proud to present an installation by Mounir Fatmi

Technologia (15′, 2010) / Mounir Fatmi (France)
Technologia is an invitation to an audiovisual experience that puts the viewer’s sensorial capacities to the test. A continuous humming sound, hardly audible, is interspersed with strident frequency modulations, evoking the intense activity of some complex digital communications tools, while on the screen, twenty-five images mixing geometric motifs and religious Arab calligraphy are shown in rapid succession, testing the limits of retinal persistence.

Saturday, May 13 : Festival Oodaaq – Video poetic friendship of the Festival Les Instants Vidéo

Rennes

The video artist cannot deviate from experimentation. This may involve a bricolage of images, sounds, sensations, but it may also involve experiencing an “I” which, once in relation with the gaze of the other (the viewer), will become a strong and comforting we. This video program is of this temperament. It invites us to pay a sublime attention to the representations that surround us, to the words that build us, to the resistance that is necessary for us to overcome this patriarchal society, to raise our voices, to use derision and to bring out new forms of creation.

How I bite, how I bark (30′) Hey you, / What you’re looking for? / You’ve never seen a woman fighting? / Back in / The dreary town with me, / And I’ll reveal to you / How I bite, how I bark! (C L)
