Friche la Belle de Mai, Marseille, from October 22 to 25
More dates to come soon

The Instants Vidéo Festival has been a perpetually evolving event—attuned to video art creation and the world that surround, a space where images seek to surprise, question, and unsettle.

Dedicated to video art and electronic poetry, the festival will offer screenings, performances, exhibitions, and encounters of another kind. Its “international encounters” will provide four days of gathering within a setting of hospitality, where gazes may meet, words may be exchanged, imagination may run free, and both the here and the elsewhere may be (re)considered.

The Festival will also explores—much like one explores a city—other ways of hosting artworks, and, in the spirit of Fluxus, will strive to avoid insularity by bringing together diverse worlds (social work, health, education, social inclusion…). It will grow richer through beautiful forays into Marseille, across the Southern Region, as well as internationally.

Our festival is shaped by artists who explore new ways of filming, narrating, and thinking about images, and by those who turn images into a terrain of friction and dialogue. We remain attentive to artistic forms that escape conventional classifications, to video practices that unfold as sensitive, poelitic, and critical gestures. Our programming is developed with a commitment to intersecting perspectives and experiences.

We paid particular attention to works that address feminist, queer, anti-racist, and decolonial concerns, works that shift points of view, play with images, renew languages, and open breaches in reality.
