Since the invention of the first tools in the prehistoric age, humans have always had a complex relationship with their tools and the machines they create. Sometimes useful, sometimes devastating, objects and machines have always had ambiguous roles, whether to help us see further (tele-vision), or to help us produce more (machine-tools), humans are constantly challenged by their own inventions and constantly led to redefine their position in relation to them. The video artists, inevitably confronted with the technique by their use of the digital medium of the moving image, invite us to question us on the influence of the machines on our life.
