<Waves, Everywhere> aborde le thème de la migration sous deux angles différents. Pour les migrants, l’immigration offre un nouvel environnement. Mais en même temps, ils laissent derrière eux un vide auquel leurs familles et amis sont confrontés. Cette tension est le point de départ du film, qui s’appuie sur des récits de migrants et de personnes restées au pays, recueillis à Berlin et en Corée du Sud, et réinterprétés en collaboration avec l’écrivain Jeff Wood pour saisir le lien indissociable entre le départ et le maintien. Plutôt que d’envisager la migration sous un angle politique et social, le film se concentre sur l’aspect humain, montrant que la migration est un phénomène universel et indissociable de l’être humain.

<Waves, Everywhere> examines the topic of migration from two different perspectives. For the migrants, immigration offers a new environment. At the same time, however, they also leave behind an emptiness with which their families and friends back home are confronted. This tension is the starting point of the film, which is based on stories of migrants and those left behind, collected in Berlin and South Korea and reinterpreted in collaboration with writer Jeff Wood to capture the inextricable link between leaving and staying. Rather than looking at migration from a political and social perspective, the film focuses on the human side, showing that migration is a universal phenomenon and an integral part of being human.
