Tourist

À l’aide d’animations 2D traditionnelles, j’aborde la question du tourisme et de sa massification. Dans de nombreuses villes, il est devenu une activité lucrative pour une minorité et un véritable problème pour la majorité des habitants. On observe une prolifération d’appartements touristiques, où les fêtes sont fréquentes, et la surpopulation des centres historiques, entraînant une gentrification des habitants et des commerces locaux, les transformant en parcs d’attractions. De nombreuses plages sont envahies par les touristes, ce qui efface l’essence même du lieu. Trouver un juste milieu où touristes et habitants puissent profiter et vivre en paix est l’un des objectifs à atteindre.

Using traditional 2D animation, I deal with the issue of tourism and its massification. In many cities, it has become a big business for a few and a real problem for the majority of citizens who live in the town. There has been a proliferation of tourist apartments, where parties are frequent, and historic centres have become overcrowded, producing a gentrification of the inhabitants and local businesses in the area, turning them into theme parks. Many of the beaches are filled with tourists, losing the natural essence of the place. Finding a middle ground where both tourists and citizens can enjoy and live in peace is one of the goals to achieve.
