Sorrow

L’œuvre consiste en un glitch vidéo qui montre un corps déformé effectuant des mouvements dramatiques. Le projet remet en question l’idée d’identité et d’identification à son propre corps, en montrant une disjonction au niveau de la représentation. L’œuvre est une métaphore qui représente la violence exercée sur un corps dissident. La vidéo s’inscrit dans le champ de l’autoportrait puisque le corps représenté est celui de l’artiste.  

The project questions the idea of identity and identification with one’s own body, showing a disjuncture when it comes to representation. The work is a metaphor that represents the violence exerted on a dissident body. The video is collected within the field of self-portrait since the body represented is the artist’s own body. 

Fran Orallo (Badajoz, Espagne 1979). Il vit et travaille à Glasgow, en Écosse. Il a étudié l’art à l’UPV, à Valence, en Espagne, et étudie actuellement l’art des nouveaux médias au City of Glasgow College, à Glasgow, en Écosse. Son travail se concentre sur l’expérimentation de la vidéo et de l’animation. À travers la relation entre image et identité. Il a exposé son travail en Espagne et à l’étranger, participant à des biennales, des expositions collectives et des festivals dans plus de 40 pays.
