Ce film est composé de deux séries photographiques qui dialoguent autour d’une réflexion sur le corps et la mort. Elles s’appellent et se répondent. Les voiles de l’émulsion se font écho et dansent ensemble. Les images sont accompagnées d’un texte poétique qui nous immerge dans des souvenirs personnels et intimes.

This film is made up of two photographic series that dialogue around a reflection on the body and death. They call and answer each other. The veils of the emulsion echo and dance together. The images are accompanied by a poetic text that immerses us in personal and intimate memories.

Alix Galdin : « Autodidacte, je suis une artiste photographe et cinéaste franco-canadienne basée à Saguenay, au Québec. Je pratique la photographie argentique depuis l’enfance mais c’est en 2016 que je commence à explorer son potentiel créatif grâce au polaroid dans un premier temps, puis grâce au film. En 2019, j’ouvre mon horizon en intégrant l’image en mouvement dans mes créations, toujours grâce à la pellicule argentique. En 2021, je décide de me consacrer professionnellement à ma pratique artistique. Cette année-là, je suis sélectionnée par Vidéographe pour bénéficier d’un soutien à la réalisation du poème vidéo Opaline. En 2022, je suis finaliste pour le Prix Nouvelles écritures de la photographie environnementale décerné par le Festival Photo La Gacilly et Fisheye Magazine avec la série Exposome. Toujours en 2022, la Table de concertation interrégionale en cinéma m’accorde une aide pour la création du documentaire Maison de paille, qui est actuellement en cours de réalisation grâce au soutien du Conseil des Arts du Canada. Mes films ont notamment été présentés au Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (Canada), aux Rendez-Vous Québec Cinéma (Canada), au festival Kinoskop (Serbie), au Festival Miden (Grèce) et au Festival Oodaaq (France). »

Alix Galdin : Self-taught, I am a French-Canadian artist photographer and filmmaker based in Saguenay, Quebec. I’ve been photographing since childhood, but it was in 2016 that I began experimenting with the possibilities of silver photography, first with polaroid, then with film. In 2019, I broaden my horizons by integrating the moving image into my creations, still using silver film. In 2021, I decide to devote myself professionally to my artistic practice. That year, I am selected by Vidéographe to benefit from a support for the realization of the video poem Opaline. In 2022, I was a finalist for the Nouvelles écritures de la photographie environnementale prize awarded by the Festival Photo La Gacilly and Fisheye Magazine. Also in 2022, the Table de concertation interrégionale en cinéma gives me a support for the creation of the documentary Maison de paille, which is currently in production thanks to support from the Canada Council for the Arts. My films have been shown at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (Canada), Rendez-Vous Québec Cinéma (Canada), Kinoskop (Serbia), Festival Miden (Greece) and Festival Oodaaq (France).
