Des airs d’opéra familiers pour porter des mots qui font écho aux problèmes qui affectent nos vies aujourd’hui. Une tension humoristique se joue entre le sérieux du sujet et l’art lyrique pour livrer une critique inhabituelle de la société de consommation. Là où la perspicacité de Thomas Piketty est nécessaire pour que nous comprenions le Capital au XXIe siècle. Il revisite les données historiques alors que nous sommes aujourd’hui confrontés à des disparités de revenus entre les classes aussi marquées qu’elles l’étaient avant la Révolution française.

Née à Montréal, Dominique Paul est une artiste multidisciplinaire qui, ces dernières années, partage son temps entre Longueuil et New York. Son travail a été exposé dans plus d’une vingtaine d’événements et de lieux, dont UnHomeless NYC, le Kingsborough Art Museum et Mapping Life à la NJCU Visual Arts Gallery. Ses vidéos ont été présentées au 10 Times Square et à la galerie Miyako Yoshinaga, où elle est représentée. En Europe, son travail a été principalement exposé en France. HuffPost, Time Out, New York: The Cut, Art Slant, SFAQ, Photograph, Whitehot Magazine et le Washington Post sont quelques-unes des publications qui ont écrit sur son travail. Récemment, en 2023, une exposition personnelle de son œuvre, Silent Fall, a eu lieu au Musée d’art des Amériques (AMA) de l’Organisation des États américains (OEA). Français Elle y a présenté l’œuvre performative Red|Rojo|Rouge|Vermelho, créée spécifiquement pour une réunion spéciale de l’OEA à Washington, DC Ses œuvres se trouvent dans les collections de la Smithsonian Institution et de l’AMA. DOMINIQUE PAUL est titulaire d’une maîtrise de l’Université de Nouvelle-Galles du Sud (UNSW) à Sydney, en Australie, où elle a vécu de 1998 à 2000, et a obtenu un doctorat en études et pratiques des arts de l’Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) en 2009. Ses publications et la monographie Silent Fall | Devenir oiseau | Becoming Bird | Convertirse en ave (en français, anglais et espagnol, Centre SAGAMIE, 2023). En 2025, All About Red | Voir rouge | Al rojo vivo, sera également trilingue et publié par le Centre SAGAMIE.
