My self portrait

Qu’est-ce que l’identité sinon une histoire. C’est mon auto-histoire, un fragment menteur de quelqu’un qui pourrait être moi, qui, en jouant à être moi, me détruit et qui, en me détruisant, me constitue. Mon autoportrait est un voyage poétique à travers mon imagination. Un récit qui fait appel à la métaphore visuelle et littéraire à la recherche d’une approche indirecte de ma construction identitaire. Que me renvoie la question de mon propre nom et de mon statut de femme? La réponse a la forme d’une créature.

What is identity but a story. This is my self-story, a lying fragment of someone who could be me, who playing at being me destroys me and who, by destroying me, constitutes me. My self-portrait is a poetic journey through my imagination. A narrative that appeals to the visual and literary metaphor looking for an indirect approach to my identity construction. What does the question about my own name and my status as a woman return to me? The answer has the shape of a creature.

Muriel Sago est actrice, réalisatrice et créatrice de contenu numérique ; Elle est diplômée en théâtre et en direction théâtrale de l’Université nationale des arts. En 2022, elle a représenté l’Argentine à la CELAC Film Week, elle a remporté le concours Hack Mafiz Málaga, le 1er Prix Artscloud Digital Artists et le Deuxième Prix ITAÚ pour les nouvelles numériques. En 2023, elle est choisie pour participer à la 18ème édition du Talents BA en collaboration avec le Festival du Film de Berlin. Ses œuvres audiovisuelles ont fait partie de l’exposition Art in Metaverse à Séoul, du Musée d’art moderne de Medellín, de la Western Michigan University, de la Biennale d’art UAMéx et d’événements de mapping vidéo urbain à travers le monde.

Muriel Sago is an actress, director and creator of digital content; She graduated in Acting and Theater Direction from the National University of the Arts. In 2022 she represented Argentina in the CELAC Film Week, she won the Hack Mafiz Málaga contest, the 1st Artscloud Digital Artists Award and the Second ITAÚ Prize for digital short stories. In 2023 she was chosen to participate in the 18th edition of the Talents BA in collaboration with the Berlin Film Festival. Her audiovisual works have been part of the Art in Metaverse exhibition in Seoul, the Museum of Modern Art in Medellín, Western Michigan University, the UAMéx Art Biennial, and urban video mapping events around the world.
