Control Anatomy

Divisé en trois chapitres, le film retrace l’évolution technologique et militaire des systèmes de contrôle, de peur et d’anéantissement par lesquels Israël a progressivement étouffé la population palestinienne dans un crescendo total. L’histoire des images et l’histoire de la guerre sont des récits parallèles : ce n’est pas un hasard si les armes comme les caméras « tirent ». Le film en montre l’évolution — des images de basse définition captées au sol jusqu’aux images de drones, faussement impersonnelles, qui visent à éliminer à la fois la cible (des êtres humains, ne l’oublions pas) et la responsabilité éthique de celui qui appuie sur la gâchette.

Divided into three chapters, the film traces the technological and military evolution of the systems of control, fear and annihilation by which Israel has gradually stifled the Palestinian population in a total crescendo. The history of the images and the history of the war are parallel narratives: it is no coincidence that weapons as cameras “shoot”. The film shows the evolution — from low-definition images captured on the ground to falsely impersonal drone images that aim to eliminate both the target (human beings, let’s not forget it) and the ethical responsibility of the one who presses the trigger.
