Carla Forte est née à Caracas, au Venezuela et vit et travaille à Miami, en Floride. Forte, d’abord formé comme danseur contemporain, a obtenu un baccalauréat, obtenant la moyenne cumulative la plus élevée à l’Institut universitaire de danse de Caracas – Venezuela (2000-2004). Forte s’est rapidement imposée comme une artiste interdisciplinaire intégrant la danse, le cinéma et la performance à travers différents médias, en se concentrant sur les émotions comme point de départ. Elle est co-fondatrice et réalisatrice du Bistoury Physical Theatre and Film (2007-présent) à Miami, en Floride. Ses longs métrages et pièces expérimentales ont été projetés dans des festivals et galeries de cinéma de premier plan tels que : “75 Festival Internazionale del Cinema di Salerno” Salerne-Italie (2021) ; “The University Galleries of Florida Atlantic University” Boca Raton-Florida ( 2021); “CICA Museum” Gyeonggi-do- Corée du Sud (2021); “16 SANFIC Santiago Festival Internacional de Cine Chile” (2021); “62 Rochester International Film Festival” (2020); “37 Miami Film Festival” Miami- Floride (2020); “OGA VideoArt Exhibitions” Roma, Italie (2018); “41st Atlanta Film Festival” Atlanta- Géorgie (2017); “Cube Art Project” Lincoln- Nebraska (2017 ); “Les Instants Vidéo” Marseille- France (2014), entre autres. Ses œuvres ont été acquises par Gravitas Adventures, South Florida PBS et Troma Entertainment. Forte a remporté des commandes, des prix et des résidences artistiques dans le cadre de programmes prestigieux tels que : PAM CUT’s Sustainability Labs (2022); South Florida Cultural Consortium Miami- Floride (2021); The 66th Flaherty Seminar NY- NY (2021); Dance Miami Choreographers Miami- Floride (2020); Knight Arts Challenge Miami- Floride (2019); En Residencia Koubek Center Miami-Floride (2019), FONLAD Residency Program Coimbra-Portugal (2018) et Berlinale Talent Berlin-Allemagne (2017).
Carla Forte was born in Caracas, Venezuela and lives and works in Miami, Florida. Forte, first trained as a contemporary dancer, received a bachelor degree, earning the highest GPA at the Dance University Institute in Caracas – Venezuela (2000-2004). Forte soon established herself as an interdisciplinary artist incorporating dance, film and performance through different media, focusing on the emotions as a starting point. She is the co-founder and film director of the Bistoury Physical Theatre and Film (2007 – Present) in Miami, Florida.
