An Uncertain Eternity

« Une éternité incertaine » suit le périple d’icebergs qui migrent du fjord de glace d’Ilulissat, au Groenland, jusqu’à la côte est de Terre-Neuve, au Canada. Narré par des Groenlandais et des Terre-Neuviens, ce film explore les implications politiques, sociales et spirituelles de ces icebergs et leur évolution face au réchauffement climatique.

An Uncertain Eternity follows the journey of icebergs that travel from Ilulissat Icefjord in Greenland to the East coast of Newfoundland in Canada. Narrated by Greenlanders and Newfoundlanders, this film explores the political, social and spiritual implications of the icebergs and how they are changing as the planet warms.

Ella Morton est une artiste visuelle et cinéaste canadienne. Sa pratique, axée sur l’exploration, l’a amenée à participer à des résidences et à des projets au Canada, en Scandinavie, au Groenland et en Antarctique. Elle utilise des procédés analogiques expérimentaux pour saisir la beauté et la fragilité des paysages les plus reculés. Ses films ont été projetés à l’international, notamment au Festival international du film de Vancouver, au Festival international du film de Rotterdam, au Festival international du documentaire de Montréal, au Future of Film Showcase, à Antimatter Media Art, au Festival international du court métrage de Dawson City et au Festival Alchemy du film et des arts médiatiques. Ella a reçu des subventions du Conseil des arts du Canada, du Conseil des arts de l’Ontario, de l’Office national du film du Canada et de l’Association des cinéastes indépendants de Toronto.

Ella Morton is a Canadian visual artist and filmmaker. Her expedition-based practice has brought her to residencies and projects across Canada, Scandinavia, Greenland and Antarctica. She uses experimental analogue processes to capture the sublime and fragile qualities of remote landscapes. Her films have screened internationally, including the Vancouver International Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Montreal International Documentary Festival, Future of Film Showcase, Antimatter Media Art, Dawson City International Short Film Festival and the Alchemy Film & Media Arts Festival. Ella has received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, the National Film Board of Canada and the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto.
