2024:\u00a0At the crossroads of militant, artistic and museological practices<\/strong>, the Festival Les Instants Vid\u00e9o is temporarily taking the form of a Museum of Solidarity<\/em><\/strong> to host the 8th video art and performance biennal \/si:n\/, which has been forced into exile. And so that the images can continue on their journey and continue to give us something to see and think about, there will be stopovers all over the world until 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2022:\u00a0<\/strong>From 2022, the responsibilities of\u00a0the association\u00a0artistic choices\u00a0are shared in a collective<\/strong>.\u00a0We are therefore\u00a0putting into practise new forms of\u00a0working together, with the desire to\u00a0introduce horizontality in the process of fabrication of the festival, as well as in the relationships\u00a0with artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2020\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0We received\u00a01100\u00a0artistic proposal, from\u00a075\u00a0countries.\u00a0
The 33rd\u00a0Festival Les Instants Vid\u00e9o,\u00a0Death, life is stalking you!<\/em>\u00a0remained\u00a0under lockdown, an invisible festival.\u00a0
For the 10 years of the Ephemeral Popular Galleries<\/strong>, we broadcast a radio program gathering all the stakeholders of the project (artists,\u00a0social organisations users and professionals, students in documentary films, and the IV team).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2019\u00a0:\u00a0<\/strong>Jean-Luc Godard\u00a0entrusts\u00a0his film\u00a0The book of image<\/em>\u00a0to us, for the openings of the festival\u00a0\/si:n\/\u00a0and Les Instants Vid\u00e9o, allowing therefor the celebration of\u00a0the union of\u00a0the 3 cities,\u00a0Marseille, Gaza and Ramallah.
We co-produce with the\u00a0REF<\/a>\u00a0(France Euromed Network) a\u00a0publication\u00a0Cultural and poetical rights around the mediterranean sea<\/strong><\/em>, made of experiences, analyses, resistances from Syria, Algeria, France, Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Malta, Libya, Palestine.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2018\u00a0:\u00a0Humans of the world, caress!<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>The 31 edition of the festival celebrates Ovide 2000 years and May 1968, combining the desire to change life (poetry) with the desire to transform the world (politics).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2017\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0Under the title\u00a0Our desires are disorder<\/em>,\u00a0with 30 events without borders<\/strong> (Tunisia, Morocco, Palestine, Kirghizstan, Egypt, Argentina, Italy, France)\u00a0and in an\u00a0undisciplined<\/em>\u00a0way (art spaces, social spaces,\u00a0cinema, WebTV\u2026),\u00a0we celebrate the 30 years of our festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

30 years that our desires are disorders
30 years that we break through cultural, social and economic barriers 
30 years that together with the artists, we draw escape plans 
30 years that we forge networks of international poetic and political complicities
30 years of poelitic intercontinental video agitations <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2016\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0Facing the\u00a0inflation\u00a0of freedom-killing\u00a0policies\u00a0and the revival of\u00a0identity and obscurantist mania in Europe,\u00a0we declare a\u00a0State of\u00a0poetic\u00a0emergency<\/strong><\/em>.
The White night<\/em>\u00a0(and sleepless night) devoted to video arts,\u00a0performance\u00a0and\u00a0psychoanalyses\u00a0gathered almost a thousand persons: we are never\u00a0poet enough!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2014\u00a0:\u00a0<\/strong>Festival\u00a0For a free circulation of bodies and desires<\/em>, where we proclaim\u00a0the\u00a0duty\u00a0of unconditional hospitality\u00a0as\u00a0indisputable and universal<\/strong>.
Presentation of the biggest video art exhibition from Taiwan,\u00a0Schizophrenia 2.0<\/em>, in cooperation with Pierre Bongiovanni (ex-director to the International Center for Video Creation, CIPV).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2013\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0Celebration of the 50 anniversary of video arts in Tokyo, Yokohama, Liege, Casablanca, Ramallah<\/strong> and finally\u00a0Marseille<\/strong> that will become the World Capital of video and digital arts for a month.
Co-fondation\u00a0of the 1st\u00a0Video art festival of Alexandria with\u00a0Bibliotheca Alexandrina<\/em>, thanks to a fruitfull and friendly collaboration with the\u00a0RAMI<\/a>\u00a0project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2012\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0Celebration of situationist and Dionysian ceremony of marriage in the\u00a0Mairie d\u2019Outrance\u00a0(The council of the Excess<\/em>),\u00a0for the opening to the 25\u00a0Festival Les Instants Vid\u00e9o,<\/em>\u00a0dedicated to the People of Greece<\/strong> \u201cguilty\u201d of having debts and to all the passionate and creative resistances, in a partnership with\u00a0Les Rencontres d\u2019Averro\u00e8s.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2011 :<\/strong> Spring coming, the people of Arab countries uprise. We publish a Zutist Manifest<\/em> calling all the artists to join this breath from the south with a revolution in languages.
We participate in the 1st Video art festival in Kirghizstan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2010\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0Birth of the first\u00a0Ephemeral popular gallery<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0in partnership with\u00a0ADPEI\u00a0(and Issma Benkhaled),\u00a0an association working in the social field, where cultural and poetic rights are explored in some other ways.\u00a0
Interwoven lands<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0will be the title given to the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2009\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0Co-foundation,\u00a0with the\u00a0A.M. Qattan Foundation<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(Mahmoud Abu Hashhash and Nisreen Naffa), and\u00a0Philippe Guiguet Bologne<\/a>\u00a0(at that time, director of the French Institute in Ramallah) of the 1st\u00a0Video art and performance Biennale in Palestine, \/si:n\/<\/strong>.\u00a0
We accompany\u00a0the creation of the 1st\u00a0Video art festival in Syria with the organisation\u00a0AllArtNow<\/strong><\/em><\/a>\u00a0in Damas (Abir & Nisrine Boukhari)\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2007\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0To tears planetizens !\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Our\u00a0friend Gianni Toti passed away on January, 8. With him, we gave birth to the world\u00a0poelitic<\/em>.
With Alain Bourges\u00a0and Richard Skrysak, we create the newspaper of information and critics\u00a0Les Acharnistes<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2006 :<\/strong> Na\u00efk M\u2019Sili comes up with the most audacious idea in the history of Les Instants Vid\u00e9o<\/em>, to create a video art festival in Palestine. We go there, Gaza, Jerusalem, Ramallah.
We publish a history of video art and of the festival, Le temps \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153uvre \/ F(r)iction (Time at work\/F(r)iction<\/em>) by Marc Mercier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2004\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0A group of committed and involved persons, united by the artistic project of the festival, creates the association\u00a0Les Instants Vid\u00e9o Num\u00e9riques et Po\u00e9tiques<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0When living Manosque to Marseille, we turn our local presence to an international\u00a0and nomadic momentum, thanks to the numerous organisations which offer to welcome one of the Festival stopovers.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2003\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0Last edition of the festival in Manosque. We are invited to\u00a0take a hike! <\/strong>Vast movement of support with the Quetzal committee<\/strong>,\u00a0after a bird name\u00a0which\u00a0once in\u00a0a cage, has his wings fading and his singing dying out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2001 :<\/strong> The Croatian poet Tomica Bajsic, met in Zagreb, is arbitrarily imprisoned. Beaten up, he suffers a memory loss. In support to his sister Pavlica\u2019s call, we create an international Committee for his liberation. After three months, he is freed. With Les Acharnistes<\/em>, we publish his first book of poems in French.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2000 :<\/strong> Back from the Balkans still wounded by war, we host artists from Bosnia-Herzegovina, from Croatia and from Serbia. Powerful emotion for the screening of the video The origin of the world<\/em> by Zoran Naskovski: a gasp of pleasure against the cries of hatred and pain. An art work that will become the symbol of our poetic commitment, that is to metamorphose anger into a song of love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1997\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0The festival\u00a0joins forces with\u00a0the art and poetry\u00a0Revue Incidences<\/em>\u00a0edited by Giney Ayme,\u00a0who published a special edition under the title\u00a0Burn your own patience<\/em><\/strong>.
When the artists\u00a0Ga\u00eblle Lucas, Sophie-Charlotte Gautier, Claire Dubois & Cathryn Boch exhibit\u00a0Les Pisseuses.\u00a0<\/em>A journalist heads his article:\u00a0Art or pig?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1993\u00a0:\u00a0<\/strong>Co-foundation\u00a0of the 1st\u00a0video art festival in Morocco, Casablanca<\/strong>, with Ben M\u2019Sik University of Humanities\u00a0(with Beatrice Bertrand\u00a0&\u00a0Majid Seddati).\u00a0Discovery\u00a0of a young and talented artist: Mounir Fatmi. Foundation with the\u00a0Moroccan artists Touria Hadraoui\u00a0&\u00a0Abdallah Zrika of the\u00a0IcaristInternational<\/em>\u00a0bringing together all\u00a0those who have not yet renounced their right to bear wings,\u00a0despite the eventuality of the fall\u00a0of Icarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1992\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0To multiply\u00a0venues for video art\u00a0screenings\u00a0in the\u00a0South-East Region of France,\u00a0we develop the network\u00a0Vid\u00e9o Lux Associ\u00e9s<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1990 :<\/strong> A meteor strikes the festival : the huge electronic poet Gianni Toti. The one able to connect in a same constellation the Russian revolutionary artists of the beginning of the 20th century (Ma\u00efakovski, Khlebnikov, Tatlin) with the pioneers of video art (Nam June Paik, the Vasulka\u2026.). He teaches us how to handle with the double battle of language and politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1988\u00a0:\u00a0Birth of the\u00a0Festival<\/em>\u00a0Les\u00a0Instants Vid\u00e9o\u00a0<\/em>in Manosque<\/strong>\u00a0(Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture),\u00a0<\/em>founded by Chantal Maire (director of the\u00a0MJC), Anne Van den Steen (visual artist)\u00a0and\u00a0Marc Mercier (comedian)\u00a0and thanks to the support of the distributor\u00a0Heure Exquise\u00a0!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
