The city is all together the shop-window of the European Cultural Capitals but also, and above all the headquarter of Vid\u00e9ographie<\/strong>. Since a few year, the City of Liege expressed its will to become the window of the Capitals of Culture. The idea was born in 2007, with the intention to create links between Liege and the different Capitals of Culture up to 2015, in order to set up Liege as a pilot-city for Cultural diversity and the crossroads of european cultures. \u00ab\u00a0The idea is to build each year a partnership with the the European Capital, explained the Deputy-mayor Jean-Pierre Hupkens. A 2 levels partnership: on one hand, the organisation of cultural projects in Liege that come in echo to those of the Capital, and on the other hand, the highlight of our local artists in the European Capital<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0.<\/p>\n

Vid\u00e9ographie yesterday<\/strong><\/p>\n

The TV program Vid\u00e9ographie, made on the RTBF-Liege television between 1976 and 1986 was a unique pilot experience, that followed the issues raised by the media itself. An exceptional experience, quite pioneer and, when looking backward, one would say foolish and unthinkable, but which managed to gather in at least 135 programs, a large number of the most important \u00ab\u00a0names\u00a0\u00bb in video art (Nam June Paik, Bill Viola, Fred Forest, Wolf Vostel, etc.) and activist video (the brothers Dardenne, Jean-Claude Riga).<\/p>\n

Vid\u00e9ographie today<\/strong><\/p>\n

Enriched by this heritage, televisual as well as of internationally renowned video art creations, Vid\u00e9ographie is coming back with the suffix 21, for 21st century. In this time of digital technologies, the new TV programmes will represent many windows on the contemporary creation. Each programme will be made in two parts : the first one will present an emerging artist, and the second part will open on the amazing archives of the old programmes. Some interviews will complete the programme to show the vitality of contemporary creation.\u00a0http:\/\/www.videographies.be\/<\/a> In March, Vid\u00e9ographie offers 3 evenings to celebrate 50 years of video arts, in the cinema Sauveni\u00e8re<\/strong>:<\/p>\n
