Les Instants Vid\u00e9o Num\u00e9riques et po\u00e9tiques<\/em> is a non-profit art organisation (association law 1901)  based in Marseille which works in the field of video arts both locally and internationally.
Our project Thought & practice of images<\/em><\/strong> is following two major headings that overlap, interact and enrich one another, and which links are inseparable and unbreakable: one is <\/span>artistic<\/span><\/strong> and the other i<\/span>s<\/span> related to <\/span>cultural & poetical rights<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the artistic level<\/strong>, our task is to bear witness on the evolution of digital and video art creation, <\/strong>to disseminate and promote them, to support emerging creation and video<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>graphies<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> that are not widely distributed, and to support artists’ <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>routes<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>, from local to international.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our activities follow 4 directions:
– Artistic programming (exhibitions and screenings),
– Art works ambassador and go-between,
– Expertise sharer: mentoring of artists and organisations, co-creation & support of festivals, jury in festival, diploma, conferences, lectures…
– Exchange of knowledges: publications, workshops, symposiums…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second area focuses on cultural and poetic rights<\/strong> as fundamental rights. Following in the footsteps of Fluxus (the avant-garde artistic movement from which video art sprang), we believe that there is an umbilical cord linking art to life<\/strong>. The association is working to so that video arts are <\/span><\/span><\/span>not<\/span><\/span><\/span> kept into an enclave <\/span><\/span><\/span>but<\/span><\/span><\/span> share<\/span><\/span><\/span>d<\/span><\/span><\/span> largely, <\/span><\/span><\/span>but also<\/span><\/span><\/span> to intensify the possibilities of encounters between a <\/span><\/span><\/span>multiplicity and diversity of persons<\/span><\/span><\/span> (fields of art, education, social…). But <\/span><\/span><\/span>our purpose is also to understand <\/span><\/span><\/span>what are <\/span><\/span><\/span>the <\/span><\/span><\/span>political, economic, cultural challenges of the <\/span><\/span><\/span>E<\/span><\/span><\/span>uro-<\/span><\/span><\/span>M<\/span><\/span><\/span>editerranean <\/span><\/span><\/span>Region<\/span><\/span><\/span> in order to get the necessary distance to perform as an actor of the word of arts and culture.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We therefor act in 2 directions:
– Image education & participation: video art awareness workshop, conversation tour of exhibitions, popular art galleries, the Programm\u2019actors<\/em> collaborative project…
– Art, citizenship & civil society: collective commitments with REF<\/a> (Euromed network France), Ligue de l\u2019Enseignement13 <\/a>(Popular education), Territoires Solidaires<\/a>, co-organisation of workshops (Libyan, Syrian youths), public encounters, forums, panel discussions…)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who are the members ?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The activities of the association are made possible thanks to the commitment of the volunteers, whose competencies and sensitivities<\/strong> are multiple: education, arts, culture, social work, health… and who are involved in the daily life of the structure as well as in the artistic project, together with the more permanent team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2022, a collective<\/strong> bears the responsibility of the artistic programing of the association<\/strong>: Trecy Afonso, Sabrina Belfry, Jako Blanc, Lola Lyphoudt, Bashir Massad<\/strong>
Together they say: \u201cTo share the artistic responsibility, is to introduce horizontality in the process of fabrication of the festival, as well as in the relations with the artists. Our job is to reveal art works, to open perspectives, to push back the boundaries (even to wipe them out), to make connections, and also<\/em> to stay<\/em> open to what we do not know yet, what is beyond us, what<\/em> overwhelms us. What is all-important is the art works and the artists (…)<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
