Hi8 footage of a childhood in Japan, Nowruz rituals shared across screens, and dreams of rooms that no longer exist form an intimate mosaic of diasporic life. At the heart of the film is the voice of the filmmaker\u2019s mother, whose singing\u2014outlawed in Iran\u2014emerges as an act of resistance. It threads through the film like an echo, binding past to present, the visible to the unseen. Iel a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 le design \u00e0 T\u00e9h\u00e9ran et, depuis 2019, le cin\u00e9ma \u00e0 l&rsquo;Acad\u00e9mie des arts m\u00e9diatiques de Cologne, naviguant entre fiction, exp\u00e9rimental et documentaire. Son travail s&rsquo;articule autour de la m\u00e9moire, de la libert\u00e9 et de l&rsquo;exil \u2013 th\u00e8mes centraux explor\u00e9s dans le film-essai Displaced in Time (2025). Dans ses films de fiction, iel explore l&rsquo;expression corporelle au sein d&rsquo;univers surr\u00e9alistes et magiques, au-del\u00e0 du langage, souvent en collaboration avec des danseurs\/danseuses. They studied Design in Tehran and, since 2019, Film at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, moving between fiction, experimental, and documentary forms. Their work revolves around memory, freedom, and exile\u2014central themes examined in the essay film Displaced in Time (2025). In their fiction films, they explore bodily expression within surreal, magical-realist worlds beyond language, often in collaboration with dancers.
