It questions what happens to our visual perception when it is automated and reduced to statistical operations. Faced with the proliferation of cameras equipped with automated recognition systems, the work reveals how machines interpret and simplify an immense visual field, beyond the reach of the human eye. The film’s images, taken from surveillance cameras, are analyzed and deployed within a fiction of anticipation that questions the creation of meaning from the visible and the simplification of reality to become “readable” by machines. He trained at the ART² school in Mons, Belgium, at the IDM© workshop run by Jean-François Octave. Since then, he has been working as a visual artist, focusing his artistic approach on issues relating to screens and their content, in particular by seizing the medium of video and broadcasting or projection equipment. He likes to hijack and hack technical devices (cameras, smartphones, computers, monitors, etc.) and plays around with his own data (email archives, photographs, videos, etc.). He creates installations where technology recycles the intimate, performances where error and randomness are seen as generators of fictions and visual experiences.
