L&rsquo;ambition et le d\u00e9fi principaux de ce travail r\u00e9sident dans une attention d\u00e9vou\u00e9e et un engagement profond dans un processus cr\u00e9atif long et lent au cours duquel l&rsquo;objectif est de d\u00e9velopper manuellement 50 000 images (ce n&rsquo;est qu&rsquo;alors que le projet peut \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme termin\u00e9), en utilisant une gamme de techniques alternatives de cr\u00e9ation d&rsquo;images &#8211; dans et hors de la chambre noire &#8211; telles que les cyanotypes, les tirages g\u00e9latino-argentiques, les chimigrammes, les tirages \u00e0 la chlorophylle, les anthotypes, les transferts d&rsquo;images, les lumens, les techniques hybrides, ainsi que le film analogique super8. Oscillant entre m\u00e9thodes num\u00e9riques et analogiques, les images sont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es et r\u00e9assembl\u00e9es avant d&rsquo;\u00eatre mont\u00e9es pour fa\u00e7onner un voyage po\u00e9tique audiovisuel, un r\u00e9cit non lin\u00e9aire se d\u00e9ployant \u00e0 travers le temps. Dans un processus qui importe plus que le produit final, le regard navigue \u00e0 travers les failles du corps, de l&rsquo;esprit et de l&rsquo;\u00e2me, \u00e0 la recherche d&rsquo;histoires (in)racont\u00e9es, de d\u00e9sirs profonds et de r\u00eaves qui aspirent \u00e0 \u00e9merger du subconscient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>This is the seventh cumulative excerpt from the ongoing experimental film project \u201c50,000 TOUCHES\u201d (2022-) on the poetics and politics of love, friendship, touch, and intimacy in relation to self and other, through the means of alternative image making, performance for\/with camera, and animation. The main ambition and challenge of this work lies with devoted attentiveness and deep commitment to a long and slow creative process during which the aim is to hand-develop 50,000 frames (only then the project can be considered completed), using a range of alternative image making techniques- in and out of the darkroom- such as cyanotypes, gelatin silver print, chemigrams, chlorophyll prints, anthotypes, image transfers, lumens, hybrid techniques, as well as super8 analogue film. Oscillating between digital and analogue methods, the frames are developed and re-assembled before being edited to shape an audio-visual poetic journey of a non-linear narrative unfolding through time. Elle explore et exp\u00e9rimente de mani\u00e8re cr\u00e9ative les croisements entre la danse, la performance (art), la vid\u00e9o, la photographie et la cr\u00e9ation, la documentation et l&rsquo;archivage d&rsquo;images alternatives. Fenia est titulaire d&rsquo;un master en chor\u00e9graphie d&rsquo;art vivant (Royaume-Uni), d&rsquo;une licence avec mention en danse (Italie) et d&rsquo;une licence en langue et litt\u00e9rature italiennes (Gr\u00e8ce). Sa pratique, hybride et rhizomatique, ax\u00e9e sur le processus, s&rsquo;appuie sur la notion de corps dans la performance \u00e0 travers des perspectives queer et f\u00e9ministes, interrogeant principalement les modes d'(auto)repr\u00e9sentation, la d\u00e9\/construction de l&rsquo;identit\u00e9 et ses ramifications sociopolitiques, ainsi que la politique du corps observ\u00e9, captur\u00e9 par l&rsquo;\u0153il de la cam\u00e9ra. Ses \u0153uvres traitent notamment de la m\u00e9moire personnelle et collective, de l&rsquo;\u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re de l&rsquo;image, de la pilosit\u00e9 corporelle comme outil de r\u00e9sistance, des violences sexistes, des politiques du toucher. Ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, en tant qu&rsquo;artiste de performance (danse), productrice et praticienne visuelle, ses \u0153uvres et celles de ses proches collaborateurs ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es dans de nombreux festivals et plateformes artistiques, couvrant les domaines de la danse, de la performance exp\u00e9rimentale, de l&rsquo;art vid\u00e9o et du spectacle vivant. Depuis 2019, elle enseigne au Master of Performance Practices de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 ArtEZ (Arnhem, Pays-Bas).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Fenia Kotsopoulou<\/strong> is a Greek award-winning, cross-disciplinary artist, currently based in UK, creatively experimenting and exploring the intersection of dance, performance(art), video, photography and alternative image making, documentation and archiving. Fenia holds a MFA in Choreographing Live Art (UK), a BA Honours in Dance (IT), a BA in Italian Language and Literature(GR). Her process-driven, hybrid, rhizomatic practice draws upon the notion of the body in performance through queer and feminist lenses, mainly interrogating modes of (self)representation, de\/construction of identity and its socio-political ramifications, and the politics of the gazed body captured through the eye of the camera. Topics of her works regard personal and collective memory, ephemerality of the image, body hairiness as tool of resistance, gender violence, politics of touch, and more. In the past few years, as (dance) performance artist, producer and visual practitioner, her works and the work of close-collaborators have been shown at a wide array of festivals and art platforms, encompassing the fields of dance, experimental performance, video-art, live-art.
