Dans un monde o\u00f9 mythes, rites et corps s&rsquo;entrem\u00ealent, cette installation vid\u00e9o en trois chapitres explore le terrain visc\u00e9ral de la lib\u00e9ration comme pratique. Avec pour toile de fond les Gnawa \u2013 une communaut\u00e9 diasporique forg\u00e9e par les cicatrices de l&rsquo;esclavage \u2013 le film explore la mani\u00e8re dont l&rsquo;identit\u00e9 est continuellement n\u00e9goci\u00e9e et remodel\u00e9e en r\u00e9ponse aux forces sociales, culturelles et politiques. \u00c0 travers des images \u00e9vocatrices et des paysages sonores immersifs, le r\u00e9cit suit les rencontres rituelles avec les djnun, ou esprits, qui revendiquent la domination des corps, exigeant soumission par des offrandes de musique, de transe et de sacrifice. Ces rites, \u00e0 la fois oppressifs et \u00e9mancipateurs, r\u00e9v\u00e8lent l&rsquo;interaction d\u00e9licate entre pouvoir et soumission, propri\u00e9t\u00e9 et lib\u00e9ration. Les trois chapitres explorent les marges comme lieux de transformation, o\u00f9 domination et subordination se rencontrent et se dissolvent dans une danse palpitante de survie et de renouveau. \u00c0 travers le prisme de la diaspora en tant que constellation de pratiques, l\u2019installation vid\u00e9o r\u00e9cup\u00e8re le corps comme un vaisseau de r\u00e9sistance, o\u00f9 les fronti\u00e8res entre soi et l\u2019esprit s\u2019estompent, donnant naissance \u00e0 une nouvelle forme d\u2019existence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Performance<\/strong> &#8211; Pina Danila Gambetolla\u00a0<br><strong>Musique<\/strong> &#8211; Nicola Jaar\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Liberation as a practice, the myth, the rite, and the body mingle to give meaning to the power held in the margins. In a world where myths, rites, and bodies entwine, this video installation in three chapters delves into the visceral terrain of liberation as a practice. Set against the backdrop of the Gnawa\u2014a diasporic community forged through the scars of slavery \u2014 the film explores the ways identity is continuously negotiated and remade in response to social, cultural, and political forces. Through evocative imagery and immersive soundscapes, the narrative follows the ritualistic encounters with the jnun, or spirits, who claim dominion over bodies, demanding submission through offerings of music, trance, and sacrifice. These rites, both oppressive and emancipatory, reveal the delicate interplay between power and surrender, ownership and liberation. The three chapters are an exploration of the margins as sites of transformation, where domination and subordination meet and dissolve into a pulsating dance of survival and renewal.
