Dans le vacarme permanent des machines, des t\u00e9moignages de travailleurs et de travailleuses se font entendre. Ils d\u00e9crivent chacun \u00e0 leur mani\u00e8re les divers m\u00e9canismes, organisations du travail, violences, qui les ont amen\u00e9s \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper une multitude de sympt\u00f4mes physiques et physiques. En incarnant tour \u00e0 tour ces r\u00e9cits individuels, d\u2019\u00e9tranges silhouettes blanches tentent de redonner un corps \u00e0 ces voix anonymes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amid the constant din of machines, worker’s testimonies are heard. Each in his or her own way, they describe the various mechanisms, work organization and violence that have led them to develop a multitude of physical and psychological symptoms. By embodying these individual accounts, strange white silhouettes attempt to give body to these anonymous voices.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Influenc\u00e9e par le cin\u00e9ma d\u2019horreur, Clara Lemercier Gemptel<\/strong> cr\u00e9e dans ses films des corps divers (creux, st\u00e9r\u00e9otyp\u00e9s, angoissants, fantomatiques) qui interrogent tous \u00e0 leur mani\u00e8re la possibilit\u00e9 d\u2019une alt\u00e9rit\u00e9 au cin\u00e9ma. \u00c0 travers eux, elle d\u00e9cortique les codes cin\u00e9matographiques, normes esth\u00e9tiques, rapports de forces et de domination qui conditionnent la repr\u00e9sentation des corps \u00e0 l\u2019image. Cr\u00e9er ces corps cin\u00e9matographiques \u00e9tranges, envers lesquels aucune identification n\u2019est possible, est pour elle une mani\u00e8re d\u2019affirmer que l\u2019image d\u2019un corps est avant tout le produit d\u2019un discours (politique, social, culturel, historique) d\u2019un rapport au r\u00e9el, \u00e0 l\u2019espace-temps: une d\u00e9finition id\u00e9ologique de l\u2019individualit\u00e9.\u00a0Sa pratique est compos\u00e9e \u00e0 la fois d\u2019installations vid\u00e9o et sonore et de films d\u00e9di\u00e9s \u00e0 la projection en salle. Son court-m\u00e9trage TEAM SPIRIT (2022) a notamment \u00e9t\u00e9 montr\u00e9 au Festival C\u00f4t\u00e9 Court 2022, au Festival Cinedans d\u2019Amsterdam 2023 et \u00e0 100% L\u2019Expo \u00e0 la Grande Halle de la Villette en 2023.\u00a0Une pratique plastique qui s\u2019accompagne \u00e9galement d\u2019un travail plus r\u00e9flexif et collectif notamment par le biais de l\u2019\u00e9criture, de la publication, et de l\u2019organisation de rencontres et de projections<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Influenced by horror cinema, Clara Lemercier Gemptel<\/strong> creates various bodies in her films (hollow, stereotypical, distressing, ghostly) which all question in their own way the possibility of otherness in cinema. Through them, she dissects the cinematographic codes, aesthetic norms, power relations and domination which condition the representation of bodies in the image. Creating these strange cinematographic bodies, with which no identification is possible, is for her a way of asserting that the image of a body is above all the product of a discourse (political, social, cultural, historical) of a relationship to reality, to space-time: an ideological definition of individuality.His practice is composed of both video and sound installations and films dedicated to theatrical projection.
