En utilisant une distance extr\u00eame de deux m\u00e8tres entre deux cam\u00e9ras synchronis\u00e9es capturant les sc\u00e8nes, la distance interoculaire du destinataire est \u00e9largie, faisant du spectateur un g\u00e9ant et de la ville un petit objet en carton et de maisons de poup\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Shot entirely from the artist&rsquo;s apartment on the 36th floor of a high-rise building, the images in this experimental stereoscopic animation survey large parts of Hong Kong\u2019s cityscape. Son travail contemple les microcosmes, les moments et les atmosph\u00e8res : les gros plans comme r\u00e9flexions sur une vue d&rsquo;ensemble et l&rsquo;esth\u00e9tique comme r\u00e9flexion sur la politique. Si ses films sont d\u00e9pourvus de dialogue, ils explorent les relations entre le son, la musique et l&rsquo;image en mouvement. Apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9tudi\u00e9 au Goldsmiths et au Royal College of Art de Londres, et pendant un semestre \u00e0 l&rsquo;Escuela de Cine de Madrid, il a obtenu un doctorat en beaux-arts \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 d&rsquo;East London. Max Hattler est professeur associ\u00e9 titulaire \u00e0 la School of Creative Media de la City University de Hong Kong. Son travail a \u00e9t\u00e9 montr\u00e9 dans le monde entier et a re\u00e7u des prix au Festival d&rsquo;animation d&rsquo;Annecy, au Prix Ars Electronica, au Festival du Nouveau Cin\u00e9ma de Montr\u00e9al, au Festival Punto y Raya, aux Lions de Cannes et au Festival international d&rsquo;animation de Londres, entre autres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Max Hattler<\/strong> is an experimental animator and audiovisual artist interested in the space between abstraction and representation, where storytelling is freed from the constraints of traditional narrative. His work contemplates microcosms, moments, and atmospheres: close-ups as reflections on the big picture, and aesthetics as reflections on politics. While his films are devoid of dialogue, they explore the relationships between sound, music and the moving image. After studying at Goldsmiths and the Royal College of Art in London\u2014and for one semester at Escuela de Cine de Madrid\u2014he completed a doctorate in fine art at the University of East London. Max Hattler is a tenured Associate Professor at the School of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong.
