Exalted<\/em> est un examen des structures de pouvoir et de la mani\u00e8re dont elles peuvent opprimer un corps. Dans Exalted<\/em>, ces structures prennent la forme du genre, de la sexualit\u00e9, de la religion, de la famille et de l’\u00c9tat. Dans Spectral Evidence, Ulrich Baer explore l’id\u00e9e que les exp\u00e9riences traumatisantes s’inscrivent dans l’esprit comme des souvenirs photographiques. Prenant cela comme point de d\u00e9part, Conlon a imagin\u00e9 le projet comme une forme permettant d’explorer la r\u00e9\u00e9criture du traumatisme. Ici, l’appareil photo est utilis\u00e9 comme une forme de discours. L’image qui en r\u00e9sulte sert de langage pour communiquer l’ineffable. Exalted is an examination of power structures and how they might oppress a body. In <\/em>Exalted those structures take the shape of gender, sexuality, religion, the family, and the state. In Spectral Evidence Ulrich Baer explores the idea of traumatic experiences registering in and as photographic memories in the mind. Taking this as a departure point, Conlon imagined the project as a form in which to explore the rewriting of trauma. Here the camera is utilised as a form of speech. The resulting image acts as a language to communicate the otherwise ineffable. So often trauma takes away the inability to articulate, and memories become obscured. The act of speaking, making a language, post-trauma, is political.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shia Conlon<\/strong> : N\u00e9e en 1990 en Irlande, vit et travaille \u00e0 Helsinki. \u00c9crivain et artiste dont le travail est centr\u00e9 sur les voix marginalis\u00e9es et qui a grandi dans le paysage de la classe ouvri\u00e8re catholique irlandaise. Ses recherches actuelles portent sur le temps non lin\u00e9aire et sur la mani\u00e8re d’utiliser le pouvoir des archives, du langage et de la m\u00e9moire comme outils de repr\u00e9sentation queer. Shia Conlon<\/strong> : Born in 1990 in Ireland, lives and works in Helsinki. Writer and artist whose work has been centered around marginalized voices and growing up in the landscape of working-class Catholic Ireland. His current research is focused on non-linear time and how to use the power of archives, language, and memory as tools for queer representation. His work is rooted in collaboration and would not exist without the vulnerability of his queer and trans community. He is 1\/3 of Almanac Press<\/a>, a trans-ran and centered mutual aid initiative and co-founder of Trans Library Helsinki<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
