L’entit\u00e9 autrefois connue sous le nom de Phil Connors, pr\u00e9sentateur m\u00e9t\u00e9o, est pi\u00e9g\u00e9e \u00e0 Punxatawny depuis plusieurs mill\u00e9naires, vivant la m\u00eame journ\u00e9e encore et encore. L’entit\u00e9 peut anticiper toutes les actions possibles et tous les r\u00e9sultats imaginables dans cette boule de neige autonome qu’est l’univers.Un autre projet du Jour de la marmotte,<\/em> cette fois-ci bas\u00e9 sur l’\u00e9pisode \u00ab Ten Thousand Years \u00bb du podcast Imaginary Advice. Ce projet a pris beaucoup de temps – beaucoup d’arr\u00eats et de d\u00e9marrage au cours des deux ann\u00e9es qui se sont \u00e9coul\u00e9es depuis le lancement du podcast (octobre 2020 ?). Combinant des s\u00e9quences appropri\u00e9es et un retour vid\u00e9o en direct, Ten Thousand Years est un film qui \u00e9merge litt\u00e9ralement de lui-m\u00eame – une complaisance de l’immobilit\u00e9 et du flou sous-jacent du chaos. Ce film est le fruit d’une collaboration avec l’\u00e9crivain Ross Sutherland, du podcast exp\u00e9rimental \u00ab Imaginary Advice \u00bb. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entitity once known as weatherman Phil Connors has been trapped in Punxatawny for several millenia, experiencing the same day over and over again. The entity can anticipate every possible action and every conceivable outcome within this self-contained snow globe of a universe. The entity has finally become god. Another Groundhog Day project, this time based on the Imaginary Advice podcast episode \u00ab\u00a0Ten Thousand Years\u00a0\u00bb. This project has taken quite a while-many stops and starts over 2 or so years since the podcast episode was released (Oct 2020?). Combining appropriated footage with live video feedback, Ten Thousand Years is a film which literally emerges from itself a complementation on stillness and the underlying fuzz of chaos. This film is a collaboration with writer Ross Sutherland, of the experimental finction podcast ‘Imaginary Advice’. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

N\u00e9 \u00e0 Huddersfield, au Royaume-Uni, Sam Meech<\/strong> est un artiste et chercheur dont la pratique comprend des documentaires, des installations de r\u00e9troactions vid\u00e9o et des animations tricot\u00e9es \u00e0 la machine. Pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment professeur \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Concordia (Intermedia) et \u00e0 la Manchester School of Art, Meech s\u2019int\u00e9resse \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation de la r\u00e9troaction vid\u00e9o dans la pratique artistique (\u00ab Video in the Abyss \u00bb) et \u00e0 l\u2019impact de l\u2019embourgeoisement sur les travailleurs du textile \u00e0 Manchester (\u00ab Fabrications \u00bb). L\u2019exp\u00e9rience de Meech en mati\u00e8re de collections et d\u2019expositions de films exp\u00e9rimentaux comprend une r\u00e9sidence et un commissariat avec la North West Film Archive, UK (\u2018Noah\u2019s Ark\u2019), et m\u00eame la construction de deux cin\u00e9mas communautaires dans le cadre de son projet \u2018Small Cinema\u2019. Il a d\u00e9j\u00e0 organis\u00e9 une projection de 24 heures du film Groundhog Day et produit \u00e0 chaque ann\u00e9e une nouvelle \u0153uvre bas\u00e9e sur ce film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sam Meech<\/strong> is an artist and researcher from Huddersfield, UK whose practice includes documentary, video feedback installations, and machine knitted animations. Previously a professor at Concordia University (Intermedia) and Manchester School of Art, Sam\u2019s research interests include the use of video feedback in arts practice (\u2018Video in the Abyss\u2019) and the impact of gentrification on textile workers in Manchester (\u2018Fabrications\u2019). Sam\u2019s experience in experimental film collections and exhibition includes a residency and commission with the North West Film Archive, UK (\u2018Noah\u2019s Ark\u2019), and even building two community cinemas through his \u2018Small Cinema\u2019 project. He once hosted a 24-hour screening of Groundhog Day, and continues to make a new work each year based on the film.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
