A deep exploration into a personal Facebook archive of videos leads to a discovery of the internet\u2019s darker historical roots. In an attempt to build a connection between one\u2019s own data and the digital infrastructure, this film questions how one can perceive the internet as separate from their material world, and hence, themselves.<\/em><\/p>\n

Pauline Blanchet<\/strong> est une r\u00e9alisatrice et productrice qui s’int\u00e9resse aux territoires urbains en pleine mutation. Elle est la fondatrice d’Aral Sea Productions et a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 des documentaires soutenus par les Ateliers M\u00e9dicis et Sundance Collab. Parall\u00e8lement au cin\u00e9ma, elle a \u00e9galement produit plus de cinq podcasts et a \u00e9t\u00e9 productrice principale de World Radio Paris. En tant que r\u00e9alisatrice de films documentaires, elle explore les perceptions et les effets des forces externes telles que les infrastructures num\u00e9riques, les programmes de r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d’entreprises et les \u00e9v\u00e9nements sportifs internationaux sur les habitants locaux. Elle s\u2019int\u00e9resse particuli\u00e8rement aux m\u00e9thodologies de r\u00e9alisation cin\u00e9matographique collaborative en recherche. Ses travaux ant\u00e9rieurs ont \u00e9galement port\u00e9 sur le mouvement mondial pour les droits des travailleuses du sexe, les repr\u00e9sentations du statut de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9, la crise climatique et la migration des enfants. Elle est titulaire d’un baccalaur\u00e9at de la SOAS en \u00e9tudes du d\u00e9veloppement et en linguistique, d’une ma\u00eetrise en histoire et culture urbaines, et entamera un doctorat en pratique du cin\u00e9ma documentaire. en septembre 2022.<\/p>\n

Pauline Blanchet is a film director and producer interested in urban areas in the midst of change. She is the founder of Aral Sea Productions and has made documentaries supported by Ateliers M\u00e9dicis and Sundance Collab. Alongside film, she has also produced over five podcasts and was the senior producer at World Radio Paris. As a documentary film director, she explores the perceptions and effects of external forces such as digital infrastructure, corporate re-generation programmes, and international sporting events on local inhabitants. She is particularly interested in collaborative filmmaking methodologies in research. Her previous work has also looked at the global sex workers\u2019 rights movement, representations of refugeehood, the climate crisis, and child migration. She holds a BA from SOAS in Development Studies and Linguistics, an MA in Urban History and Culture, and will be starting a Documentary Film Practice Ph.D. in September 2022.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
