Clarisse Pillard : In my practice, I deploy an interplay of words and images to question the systemic, emotional, symbolic, and often invisible relationships we have with our consumption of language, objects and media… At the moment, I am questioning consumables: those objects that we buy or offer, for a monetary sum. I wonder what the purchase and possession of these consumables reveals about our social patterns and our beliefs and superstitions. To unfold my critical standpoint, I often take as a starting point a detail of our daily life such as an object, a place or a word and pursue a work of observation and reflection based on empirical and theoretical researches. Fiction, staging, but also documentation, distortion and depletion of reality, are some of the processes that I use to project concepts and critical questionings in my realisations.\u00a0My projects are not intended to be answers to my questions, but they offer the spectators to appropriate and resume these questions in their own terms. Je me demande ce que l\u2019achat et la possession de ces consommables r\u00e9v\u00e8lent sur nos mod\u00e8les sociaux, nos croyances et superstitions. Pour d\u00e9ployer mon point de vue critique, je m’inspire souvent d’un d\u00e9tail de notre vie quotidienne comme un objet, un lieu ou un mot et poursuis un travail d’observation et de r\u00e9flexion bas\u00e9 sur des recherches empiriques et th\u00e9oriques. Fiction, mise en sc\u00e8ne, mais aussi documentation, distorsion et \u00e9puisement du r\u00e9el, sont quelques-uns des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s que j’utilise pour projeter des concepts et des questionnements critiques dans mes r\u00e9alisations. Mes projets ne se veulent pas des r\u00e9ponses \u00e0 mes questions, mais ils proposent aux spectateurs de s’approprier et de reprendre ces questions dans leurs propres termes. Cette pratique fond\u00e9e sur la recherche est soutenue par un besoin quotidien d\u2019\u00e9couter et de raconter des histoires, tout en cherchant \u00e0 comprendre les cadres sociaux, \u00e9conomiques et politiques plus larges dans lesquels s\u2019inscrivent ces histoires personnelles afin d\u2019en r\u00e9v\u00e9ler leur caract\u00e8re universel.<\/p>\n
