Le silence a subtilement disparu \u00e0 la mi-janvier 2019, suite \u00e0 un \u00e9v\u00e9nement traumatisant survenu un an auparavant. Depuis, bruits blancs, sons scintillants et autres fr\u00e9quences dysfonctionnelles m’accompagnent \u00e0 chaque instant, comme des symboles impalpables du traumatisme, en surimpression. Cet autoportrait, tourn\u00e9 en Super 8, illustre le chaos sensoriel provoqu\u00e9 par un acouph\u00e8ne permanent. J’ai d\u00fb apprivoiser cette \u00ab\u00a0douleur fant\u00f4me\u00a0\u00bb, comme des ondes sonores en perp\u00e9tuelle d\u00e9ferlante, pour d\u00e9finir un nouvel \u00e9tat de silence.<\/p>\n

The silence subtly disappeared sometime in mid-January 2019, following a traumatic event that occurred one year before. Since then, white noise, scintillating sounds, and other dysfunctional frequencies have been with me every moment of every day, like impalpable symbols of trauma, superimposed.\u00a0This self-portrait, shot in Super 8 film, illustrates the sensory chaos provoked by permanent tinnitus. I have had to tame this \u2018phantom pain\u2019, like perpetually surging sound waves, to define a new state of silence.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sarah Seen\u00e9 is a photographer and filmmaker who works with analog media (35mm, 120mm, Polaroid, Super8). Bringing together mainly portraits, her images focus on faces, bodies and the human being. The photographic material offered by the film has allowed her to develop a singular poetry, a dream that animates each of her series. Her work is inspired by the concept of resilience spoken by the French neuropsychiatrist Boris Cyrulnik. For several years, she carried out an introspective research aimed at grasping the contours of her own history and her capacity to be reborn from her ashes, through the exploration of the post-traumatic shock syndrome linked to several personal dramas. Resilience is particularly central in her work about herself or about other people.<\/em><\/p>\n
