‘Walden [verbe]’ est une adaptation exp\u00e9rimentale du livre ‘Walden’ de Henry David Thoreau. Sur trois canaux de vid\u00e9o, nous suivons une jeune femme dans les bois enneig\u00e9s alors qu’elle entreprend diverses proc\u00e9dures rituelles dans la nature et dans des espaces abstraits. Le film relie divers th\u00e8mes de l’environnementalisme et de la discorde humaine pour tisser des fragments de r\u00e9cits et de symboles, les trois canaux de la vid\u00e9o cr\u00e9ant un ensemble bien con\u00e7u li\u00e9 par un seul paysage sonore. \u00ab\u00a0Le co\u00fbt d’une chose est le montant de ce que j’appelle la vie qui doit \u00eatre \u00e9chang\u00e9 contre elle.\u00a0\u00bb – Henry David Thoreau<\/p>\n

‘Walden [verb]’ is an experimental adaptation of the book ‘Walden’ by Henry David Thoreau. Within three channels of video, we follow a young woman in the snowy woods as she undertakes various ritualistic procedures in nature and in abstracted spaces. The film links various themes of environmentalism and human discord to weave fragments of narratives and symbols, the three channels of video creating a well-crafted whole linked by a single soundscape.\u00a0\u201cThe cost of a thing is the amount of what I call life which is required to be exchanged for it.\u201d – Henry David Thoreau<\/em><\/p>\n

Emma Rozanski<\/strong> est une cin\u00e9aste et artiste multim\u00e9dia australienne bas\u00e9e entre la Colombie et Londres. Elle a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 avec le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre cin\u00e9aste hongrois B\u00e9la Tarr dans sa film.factory \u00e0 Sarajevo o\u00f9 elle a obtenu son MFA en cin\u00e9ma. Son premier long m\u00e9trage, PAPAGAJKA (Le perroquet) a eu sa premi\u00e8re mondiale au Festival du film South by Southwest [SXSW] et au Festival du film de Sarajevo et a \u00e9t\u00e9 couronn\u00e9 de succ\u00e8s dans le monde entier. Les images anim\u00e9es d’Emma ont \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9es dans plus de 200 festivals et expositions \u00e0 travers le monde et ont remport\u00e9 plusieurs prix. Elle est une ancienne \u00e9l\u00e8ve du Torino Film Lab, de la Berlinale Talents, de la Berlinale Short Film Station et du Reykjav\u00edk Talent Lab. Emma d\u00e9veloppe ses deux prochains longs m\u00e9trages narratifs, EL VAQUERO et SAUDADE, tous deux tourn\u00e9s en Colombie.<\/p>\n

Emma is an Australian filmmaker and multi-media artist based between Colombia and London. She studied under acclaimed Hungarian filmmaker B\u00e9la Tarr at his film.factory in Sarajevo where she received her MFA in filmmaking. Her debut feature-length film, PAPAGAJKA (The Parrot) had its World Premiere at the South by Southwest [SXSW] Film Festival and the Sarajevo Film Festival and continued on to a successful festival run worldwide. Emma\u2019s moving image works have been selected for over 200 festivals and exhibitions worldwide and won several awards. She is an alumnus of the Torino Film Lab, Berlinale Talents, the Berlinale Short Film Station and the Reykjav\u00edk Talent Lab. Emma is developing her next two narrative feature films, EL VAQUERO and SAUDADE, both set in Colombia.<\/em><\/p>\n
