Our stops in 2019

Our stops in 2019

September 14 to 16, Ramallah, Gaza, Palestine: 6 Biennale of video art and performance /si:n/

A partnership between 6 cultural institutions: the Ramallah Municipality – بلدية رام اللهA.M. Qattan Foundation, Les Instants Vidéo Numériques et Poétiques/ Marseille, Eltiqa/ Gaza, Shababek for Contemporary Art/ Gaza.

For its 6 edition in September 2019, the festival decided to have the main shopping street of Ramallah under the occupation of others eyes.“To see our own town not only through anthropocentrism but also from the point of view of animals, insects, plants, can reveal another story of the body. To see our own town not only as a space where human being is a minor figure with the role of a consumer, but a space of wanderings, of dreams, of encounters. To change a commercial street into a botanical garden, a zoo, by occupying its shop windows, its stalls, its storefronts, its advertising spaces, means to open a competition between two trickeries, two fantasies: the consumerist happiness and the unspoilt nature”.

From February to June, the Programm’actors met to watch, feel and discuss video art works, and in the end to choose collectively what they wanted to share with an audience. The 8 works presented reflect the verses of the Moroccan poet Lâabi, like multiple glances on our contemporary world and poetical paths to take in order not to suffer from it. The artist Sophie-Charlotte Gautier will present her sound creation, a trace of this shared experience to “bring humanity together”.

The project Programm’actorsis the result of a fruitful partnership between Les Instants Vidéos Numériques et Poétiques and persons coming from 4 social or health organisations in Marseille: SARA, ARI, ADPEI and ANEF

Thursday, June 20, 2 to 7pm : World Refugee Day, Marseille

Every year, June 20 marks World Refugee Day. The event is about raising global awareness of global responsibility for refugees. A program prepared by Tiffanie Taveau, Manuela Rössler & Marie-Anouchka Reynaud, for Les Instants Vidéo. More information here https://www.facebook.com/JMRMarseille/

Plural exiles: This program is a crossing, a journey, an experience. With stops. On nearby or distant territories. Each voice tells her/his own way, an exile, a route taken, an almost erased trace, the burden of a past, pains, hopes, acts of courage, commitments to pushing the borders out, to breaking the wall. Walls turned sideways are bridges says Angela Davis. These multiple voices are calling each other, are answering each other all the way long.”
