The “Minispectacles” – “touché”, “douche” and “souche” – are one-minute cinematic haikus that depict big, recognisable emotions. There is something pitiful, amusing, horrifying and odd about them. The locations are at one with the emotions both conceptually and contextually. The multi-layered names stitch together the inner feelings with nature, landscape, animal and human being. Ces Minispectacles - "touché", "douche" et "souche" - sont des haikus cinématographiques d'une minute qui relatent des émotions fortes bien connues . Il y a quelque chose de pitoyable, d'amusant, d'horrifiant et d'inhabituel en chacun d'eux. VidéosRésumé : "Negretina", is an experimental short film about the 1920s and 30s in Europe based on found footage film material. The film is based on original 1920s and 1930s Pathé film material in 9.5mm format. The music for the film, a classical, contemporary piece for orchestra and choir, Agua Nocturna, is composed by Lasse Enersen (FIN). The 1920s and 1930s in Europe was an era of strong political changes, economical downturn and the rise of right-wing politics and fascism in Germany. In the focus of the found footage is a small girl called Negretina. Combining different styles of the era, the film depicts impressions from a time in history. Note de contenu : Negretina est un film experimental court qui parle des années 20 et 30 en Europe à l'aide d'images d'archives. (originaux Pathé film au format 9,5mm). La musique est un morceau contemporain pour orchestre et chœur, de Lasse Enersen, Agua Nocturna. Les années 20 et 30 en Europe représentent une période de changements politiques importants, de récession économique et de montée de la droite et du fascisme en Allemagne. villeRésumé : Des mots qui dessinent un lieu, des images qui le transportent à l’autre rive de la Méditerranée. Puis des mots de là-bas qui redessinent ce lieu, le rendant autre. Pontons est une installation mêlant la parole d’habitants à l’image vidéo et photographique. À travers le regard des artistes marseillais et tunisois, un jeu de miroir est créé entre les deux villes, exposées à des dialogues poétiques. Cette création a été conçue comme un processus à plusieurs étapes. Les artistes vidéastes Pauliina Salminen et Andrés Jaschek, avec la complicité de la photographe tunisienne Mouna Jemal Siala, ont organisé une première rencontre avec des habitants de Marseille puis de Tunis. Lors de ces ateliers, chaque participant s’est exprimé sur un lieu de sa ville en engageant un point de vue, intime et sensible à travers la création de textes (cf. textes « ALLER »). Ensuite, les vidéastes ont réalisé une courte vidéo inspirée par chaque texte, non pas pour présenter ou décrire le lieu en question mais pour transmettre des sensations et émotions liées à celui-ci, pour les réinterpréter, pour se les approprier... De nouvelles rencontres se sont organisées des deux côtés de la Méditerranée. À ce moment-là, les habitants marseillais ont visionné les créations vidéo tournées à Tunis et les tunisois celles tournées à Marseille. Suite à ces dernières, ils ont écrit un deuxième texte, en s’inspirant cette fois-ci des images regardées, en essayant de rendre compte de l’ambiance qui en émane, en y projetant leur propre imagination, leurs propres expériences (cf. textes « RETOUR »). Exposer les espaces urbains au regard des habitants est au cœur du projet. Plus précisément, cette création s’intéresse à la façon dont les lieux réels se mêlent à des lieux fantasme; le regard subjectif et les émotions personnelles modifient les images existantes, les états d’âme des personnes sont confrontés aux états d’âme des villes.

ROUTEMASTER is a rhythmic mosaic about speed and human cadavers that have been used in crash tests.
ROUTEMASTER is about the filmic portrayal of speed. It is a montage of racing car speed, a merging of the subject with the film material, and is also about the use of human cadavers in crash tests. ROUTEMASTER's sound track uses computer-manipulated electric-violin sounds, a rhythmic pulse and noise loops to convey a sense of ever-faster motion and speed. ROUTEMASTER is a film that resembles a physical experience.
ROUTEMASTER is a montage of rhythmically organised repetitions and involves an abstraction of motion that increases in frequency and scale. The basic framework of the film is provided by intercutting of two counterposed materials. On the one hand, it uses black-and-white, endlessly accelerating and rhythmically varying images of the inexorable forward motion of the racing cars. On the other hand, it uses colourful, extreme slow-motion images of details of a chequered flag fluttering in the wind. The escalating speed, growing abstraction and mosaic-like repetition of images leads on to manipulated, yet realistic images of human bodies used in crash tests. In the end, all that is left is the black-and-white flash of speed, the gyrating pulse of the mosaic, the details of the human bodies and the intense soundtrack. ROUTEMASTER has some of the qualities of a live concert.
ROUTEMASTER is a film conscious of its context. It aims at a new filmic synthesis of the history of structuralism and minimalism, and at finding technical approaches that revitalise the tradition of formalist expression.
