Ayisha Abraham est née à Londres en 1963 et vit actuellement à Bangalore en Inde. Elle obtient en 1987 son BFA (Licence des Beaux-arts) en peinture à la MS University de Baroda, en Inde. En 1991, elle participe au "Whitney Independent Study Program" de la ville de New York. En 1995, elle termine son MFA (Master des Beaux-arts) à la Rutgers University de New Brunswick dans le New Jersey. Plusieurs expositions monographiques lui ont été consacrées à New York et en Inde, et ses œuvres ont aussi rejoint de nombreuses expositions collectives. En septembre 2005, son film "Straight 8" a été projeté lors de la "Srishti" exposition de Ars Electronica à Linz (Autriche). En 2005, elle fut l’une des artistes invités à la résidence Khoj de Mumbaï. Son court métrage "One Way" fut projeté à la Quinzaine des Réalisateurs du festival de Cannes en mai 2007. Elle est membre de BAR1, collectif d’artistes de Bangalore, et travaille en tant que consultante en arts visuels pour la Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology de Bangalore.

Ayisha Abraham was born in 1963 in London, and currently lives in Bangalore, India. She received her BFA in Painting at the MS University, Baroda, India, in 1987. In 1991 she participated in the Whitney Independent Study Program, New York City. In 1995 she completed her MFA at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She has had several solo exhibitions in New York and India, as well as being exhibited in numerous group shows. In September 2005 her film "Straight 8" was screened at the Srishti exhibition at Ars Electronica, Linz, Austria. In 2005 she was an invited artist at the Khoj residency in Mumbai. Her short film "One Way", was screened at the Directors Fortnight at Cannes, May 2007. She is a member of a Bangalore artists collective, BAR1 and works as a visual arts consultant at the Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology in Bangalore.
